New here. Advice needed.

Postby montyr » Thu Feb 11, 2010 1:09 pm

Hi,

New here, I'm 21 and starting to become concerned by my hair loss. My gf has commented that I'm thinning on top and compared to old photo's I've lost a hell of a lot of hair.

I went to the drs and had a blood test just to confirm there weren't any other issues and there aren't. Prior to the blood test he mentioned propecia and regaine. He said regaine is much safer and was pretty much pointing me in that direction. Post blood test, besides forgetting what the blood test was for and needing me to prompt him, he seems to think that anything is a waste of money and advised against it. I said does it not work then and he muttered something and said as soon as you stop using it it'll just fall out again anyway. Then said maybe if it gets worse I should try it but until then it's a waste of money.

Tbh though at the moment I'd be happy if I could maintain the ammount of hair I have now, if more hair did grow that would be a bonus, so my thinking is I would rather treat it now before it gets worse. I can see that a lot of my hair has gone very fine and very light blonde in colour and I remember reading those were the kind of hairs it worked on.

I am a student so not made of money but if it' going to work then I would be willing to spend the money.

All advice much appreciated.

I'm not so keen on the propecia option because of the side affects plus the dr suggesting it isn't safe to use long term.

Does regaine work? Is it worth using now? What sort should I use?

Cheers.

I think you are getting very conscious about your hair, firstly, dont get panic about your hair as, due to some hormonal problem it may happening so it is better to take healthy diet which contains lot o protein and calcium.
because protein is a important source of building and repairing hair follicles. you are very small for taking any sort of medications as, at this age it is no advisable.

I can only suggest you to opt some good and healthy diet and keep your self out of tensions, also you can take some natural things like sweet almond oil message which will definitely prove to be the best for you.

Thanks
