Making Minoxidil (Regaine) more effective

Postby TonyMaleedy » Wed Nov 09, 2011 1:56 pm

I am a hair specialist (trichologist) and have been treating hair loss conditions for over 25 years. I have found Minoxidil (Regaine) to be quite effective - particularly at 5%, however a major problem is that because it is a totically applied solution any scale on the person's scalp (not just dandruff) can act like a sponge to absorb a high proportion of the lotion, so preventing much of it passing down the hair follicles to reach the target site (the root of the hair) at their base. We have found that by clearing the scale and allowing a higher proportion of Minoxidil to penetrate into the scalp the results in new hair growth are very much better.
