Regaine hair loss

Postby faust405245 » Mon Oct 12, 2009 3:12 am

I've been taking regaine extra strength, the spray kind, for about a month now in a desperate attempt to reverse, or at least halt a receding hairline. However the receding has increased dramatcially since I started using. I know hairloss is a common side effect, and might actually be a sign it's working but how long does this hairloss go on for? Is a month too long? Should I just give up and stop or should I perservere? My hairline is getting pretty severe now. I dont want to carry on is it will just make things worse but I also dont want to stop too early. I need help.

I'm only 25.

This sucks. :x

I am also suffering from hair loss, I am 20 and have been having this problem for a year. I don't know the answer to your question but I thought this might be something which would intrest you, I recently found some imformation about an accidental discovery by scientists using stem cells that looks very promising, the links are posted below although there is still alot of testing to do yet before humans can use this treatment but they also say it could be here within 3 years! I am also going to talk to my doctor about the hairloss treatments currently available if I learn anything I will post it for you here.

(no links please)

There are a few videos listed on the left with the google link I have posted. The two best to watch are Cure for Baldness on MSNBC and Hair Loss Solution with Stem Cells.

Good luck!

Hi Faust,

The fact that hair loss is a side effect of Minoxidil is not only ironic, but it is accurate. In any case Minoxidil only works for about 50% of men who use it and about 15% show a real benefit of stronger hair.

I cannot remember whether you said what strength minoxidil you were using but it could be that you are using a 2% solution which is not sufficiently strong for men, and what you are seeing is your hair loss continuing rather than a side effect of minoxidil.

Generally if you are using any pharmaceutical preparation and matters are getting worse, the common sense advice is to discontinue use.

The manufacturers of Minoxidil do state that it doesn't work for everyone, so you are best to try something else and keep trying different products until you find something that works for you.
On (no links please) it has been suggested that you try a succession of hair loss products until you find the one that works for you. They also say that a product might only work for you for a year or two, and then the hair loss may just start up again. If this happens to you, then don't give in, try another product until you find another one that works. After a couple of years that might not work for you any more, BUT, if you go back to the original product, that might work again so you can cycle through products.

Hair loss is traumatic, but don't give in, but sadly with regarding to hair loss products, there is not yet a 'one-size-fits-all' treatment.

I think it is better to use Generic Propecia instead of Rogaine, as this proves to be the best medicine through which you will get most effective results as I suggest all my friends and fellows that are going through hair loss problems.

Thanks
